Rock the Dock started as a few friends who began gathering, dancing and eventually hosting bands at the Port of Redwood City during early 2021. During the Covid Pandemic, these outdoor distanced gatherings were a safe way to have fun and sustain/build community. These grassroots events eventually grew in popularity. Without any major sponsors, the founders used their own savings to fund the first three years of Rock the Dock events.

San Carlos Hometown Days is an annual, free, family-friendly festival held in May 15th-17th at Burton Park, San Carlos, CA celebrating the city's community spirit with a parade, live music, food, and activities like a fun run, cornhole tournament, and kids' games. The event features local schools, businesses, and community groups, with highlights including the Saturday morning parade, a Sunday pancake breakfast, and entertainment on two stages. Splick da’Groove and the Everyday People perform on May 16th 2026 at 4:30pm

One of the Peninsula’s Premier Fall Festivals, the City of San Carlos’s Art & Wine Faire attracts huge crowds who come to take in the sights, sounds and tastes of this 33rd annual event featuring 225 fine arts and crafts booths, wine and beer selections, tasty food, specialty pre-packaged food, live entertainment and a Family Fun Zone with lots of hands-on activities for the kids. The Faire is easily accessible from Caltrain and SamTrans. Event hours 10:00am – 6:00pm. Artist spaces spanning Laurel Street from Arroyo to San Carlos Ave and are against the curbs. Artist spaces on San Carlos Avenue between Walnut and Laurel Street are positioned against the median.

SUMMER FUN ON THE 4TH

Join us on July 4th for “Summer Fun on the 4th,” an exciting event from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event includes an R&B, Motown and soul music concert by Splick Da’Groove and the Everyday People, additional entertainment, a trivia contest, giveaways, and a kid's craft activity. The first 500 attendees will also receive a free light-up gift; giveaways and craft materials are while supplies last. Guests who take a picture at the Jack London Square selfie wall and tag the center @Jacklondonsq on Instagram will be automatically entered for a chance to win a $100 gift card to a Jack London Square business.
